FY 2024 Good Jobs in Clean Energy Prize
WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to ensure that clean energy programs and investments result in good jobs and greater access to these jobs for target populations by equipping coalitions with tools to support these goals. This program supports the formation of newly formed or newly purposed place-based coalitions focused on creating good jobs in clean energy. Click here for more information.

FY 2024 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Smart Manufacturing and Recycling Tactics for States (SMART) (Part B): State and Local Battery Collection, Recycling, and Reprocessing Program
WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program supports the establishment or enhancement of battery collection, recycling, and reprocessing to support domestic battery and critical materials supply chain. This component is intended to support the recycling of batteries and battery-containing devices that will support the establishment of a robust domestic critical material supply chain for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program advances research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RD&D) in several areas critical to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, including: development of innovative battery chemistries and component materials, reduction of cascading battery fires, and battery electrode, cell, and pack manufacturing cost reduction. The purpose of this program is to expand the impact of existing residential weatherization programs by utilizing leveraged resources and enhanced community partnerships to perform deep energy retrofits of low-income residential buildings and empower local community representation within the energy workforce.
