Senators Kyrsten Sinema @SenatorSinema (I-AZ) and @JohnCornyn (R-TX) have introduced the Special District Grant Accessibility Act (SDGAA) to the Senate.
The bill was approved by the full House on May 6, 2024 and if passed, would establish a first-ever, formal definition of “special district” in federal law. Led by NSDC, this vital legislation makes it possible for special districts in local communities to access essential funding for water, parks, infrastructure, and community services.
National Special Districts Coalition (the "District") is committed to ensuring that its services are accessible to all
members of the public. As part of this commitment, the District strives to provide an accessible website compatible with
the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, AA, and commercial screen reading software. Features of the
website are created to allow individuals with vision and other impairments to understand and use the website to the same
